This is a supportive space to explore anxiety, life transitions, identity, trauma, or relationship concerns—with the same warmth and professionalism you can expect from all services at Cultivate.
All sessions are closely supervised by Crystal Tierney, Registered Psychotherapist, ensuring high-quality care grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed practice. Fees are adjusted based on financial need. Our sliding scale ranges from $20–$90 per 50-minute session. Availability is limited.

Individual therapy is a space to slow down, reflect, and be deeply heard. At Cultivate Mental Health, we offer a relational, trauma-informed approach that honours your lived experience and supports healing, growth, and self-understanding. Whether you're navigating anxiety, burnout, grief, relationship issues, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can help you reconnect with yourself and move forward with greater clarity and intention.
We tailor therapy to your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based approaches like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), somatic and mindfulness-based practices, and psychodynamic reflection. Our work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and choice.
Common reasons people seek therapy include:
- Anxiety, overwhelm, or chronic stress
- Grief, loss, or life transitions
- Trauma and childhood experiences
- Relationship or attachment challenges
- Identity exploration, including gender, sexuality, or cultural identity
- Burnout, perfectionism, or low self-worth
You don’t have to have everything figured out, just a willingness to begin! Book a consultation today.
Teens & Young Adults
The teen and young adult years can bring on relationship changes, major transitions, and important identity exploration. Our therapists create a safe, non-judgmental space for youth to explore what’s going, whether that’s anxiety, stress, identity, relationships, or just feeling overwhelmed.
We approach each session with curiosity, warmth, and respect, supporting teens and young adults in building emotional insight, coping tools, and self-trust. Therapy can help young people feel more grounded and empowered as they navigate school, family, and friendships.
Common themes include:
- Anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation
- School pressure, social stress, or perfectionism
- Identity exploration (e.g. gender, sexuality, neurodivergence, culture)
- Family or relationship challenges
- Trauma, grief, or difficult life experiences
- Self-esteem, body image, and boundaries
Parents/guardians are welcome to be part of the process when appropriate, with the teen or young adult’s consent.
Couples Counselling
Relationships can be a source of deep connection and sometimes strain. Our couples counselling offers a supportive space for partners to explore challenges, strengthen communication, and reconnect with one another. Whether you're navigating conflict, life transitions, parenting stress, or simply feeling disconnected, we work collaboratively to help you understand patterns, repair ruptures, and build a more intentional relationship.
Our approach is trauma-informed, inclusive, and grounded in evidence-based models such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method. We welcome all relationship structures and identities, including LGBTQ2S+ couples, polyamorous partnerships, and those in co-parenting dynamics.
Common themes in couples counselling include:
- Communication breakdowns and recurring conflict
- Rebuilding trust after betrayal or disconnection
- Navigating parenting, life transitions, or external stressors
- Enhancing emotional and physical intimacy
- Exploring patterns shaped by past trauma or family history
Whether you're hoping to reconnect, make a difficult decision, or simply grow together, couples counselling can offer clarity, tools, and renewed connection.
Parent Coaching

Our parent coaching sessions offer a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore your parenting journey. Whether you're navigating emotional outbursts, developmental changes, or family transitions, we’ll work together to deepen connection, increase confidence, and find strategies that feel right for your family.
This is a collaborative space focused on solutions that promote healthy child development and strong parent-child relationships. Coaching can be helpful for parents of children of all ages—including toddlers, teens, and adult children.

Family Counselling
Families are complex, dynamic systems and sometimes, communication breaks down or conflict takes root in ways that feel hard to untangle. Family therapy provides a supportive space to strengthen connection, navigate conflict, and build understanding across generations and perspectives.
At Cultivate, we take a trauma-informed, relational approach that honours each family member’s experience while working toward shared goals. Whether you're facing life transitions, grief, parenting struggles, sibling conflict, or intergenerational patterns, we collaborate with your family to move toward greater empathy, clarity, and connection.
Family therapy can include any configuration of family members, including parents and children, siblings, adult children and caregivers, or blended and chosen families.
Common reasons families seek therapy include:
- Communication breakdown or frequent conflict
- Life transitions such as separation, loss, or relocation
- Supporting a child or teen through challenges
- Navigating parenting differences or co-parenting dynamics
- Healing family ruptures or intergenerational wounds
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based therapy designed to help people heal from trauma, distressing life events, and deeply held negative beliefs. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) to support the brain in processing and integrating unresolved experiences.
EMDR can be effective for a wide range of concerns, including PTSD, anxiety, grief, low self-worth, and the lingering impacts of childhood trauma. EMDR may be offered as a stand-alone therapy or integrated with other approaches as part of your broader healing process. Have any questions? Book a FREE consultation!
